Router Default Passwords

Please check the sticker on your router first. Most routers now come with a non standard login and password set.

  2. Netgear: Username: admin, Password: password or 1234
  3. Cisco: Username: (blank), Password: (blank)
  4. D-Link: Username: admin, Password: (blank)
  5. TP-Link: Username: admin, Password: admin

  7. ASUS: Username: admin, Password: admin

Note: These are the default credentials for most routers, but they may vary depending on the model and version. If you’re unable to log in using these credentials, you can usually find the correct ones by searching for your router’s model number and “default password” online. If you’ve changed the password and forgotten it, you may need to reset the router to its factory settings.

To do so, find a small button, usually located on the back or bottom of the router labeled “reset”. While router is powered on, hold the reset button until the lights blink or shut off. The router will reboot, and this could potentially take a few minutes. You will then need to set up your network again.
